Flash Photography, SPF and Silica : Myths and Reality

Do you need to stay away from using a product with SPF, or HD powder (silica) for evening makeup or if you know you'll be photographed? Makeup artist, Jordan Liberty aka Give Good Face on YouTube has done a myth busting video tips on the use of SPF and silica in conjunction with Flash Photography. I really enjoyed his video and thought you might too.

Jordan is really good with communicating with the public, so if you have any questions, make sure to go on the video page and talk to him there direct.

Umm, I don't think I will be purchasing the elf HD powder any time soon.

This is why I'm loving Dr Hauschka's Illuminating Powder, no silica just fabulousness x

That Nicole Kidman one has to be the worst! I used to use the Essence one but powder dries out my skin so I just don't bother with it anymore. Great video though, very informative! xx

I think this is such a great video! Thank you very much for sharing this! I've been using a color powder on clients, but it's just not the same as the silica powder. I love when I can read blogs and find new tips & tricks to make my job easier! =D

xx

Honestly I find the ELF HD powder distinctly meh anyway. I personally get around the whole flash photography thing by avoiding cameras like the plague ;~) But that's just me. I did once get caught out by a flash and a shimmery under eye concealer (Collection 2000 I think it was). I looked like a reverse Panda. No cute. Fab video, thanks for sharing it! x

I've never known what to use fan brushes for so this is really helpful. Thankfully I don't have the paparazzi following me out of my house everyday but if I do now I'll know how to look my best! :D

oh nice! that's my friend Jordan Liberty's video. I love him. He's one of my favorite makeup artists and lucky to work with him sometimes. I learn so much from him. =)
