Gold Lustre Arabian Glow on my nails

I *might* have a thing for gold nail polishes. That or they just fall into my shopping basket without my knowledge. Meet 'Gold Lustre' from Avon Limited Edition 'Arabian Glow' Collection. I didn't plan to buy this originally but when I saw it at half price (£3 instead of £6) and with free delivery then I just had to go for it.


 


Application was very easy. My photos show 3 coats, which is 1 coat more that I would have ideally like to apply to reach full opacity but the result is stunning. Not a streak in sight, and the finish is superb. However I am so glad I paid it half price: the bottle is cute but tiny and only contains 8ml of product.


 





Please forgive me for posting so many pictures, I am truly, deeply and madly in love with ‘Gold Lustre’. I am now lusting after ‘purple passion’ from the same collection. If the finish is anything like gold lustre, this might well the purple polish of my dreams waiting for me. If you have it and have blogged about it, please send me your link, I’d love to see it!

Romance Nails

I have a confession to make. I don’t think I have ever bought any makeup from Avon. I might be a bit snob as I have always looked down a bit on Avon as being a makeup brand reserved for people who can’t have access to physical shops and order their makeup by mail order. I am less judgemental about Avon now, having seen through the years lots of high profile celebrities endorsing the brand, and seeing lots of Avon makeup products worn and enjoyed by the blogging community. As for the mail order aspect of it, it doesn’t concern me anymore as more and more brands have more presence on internet rather than in physical shops (I am winking at you lovely e.l.f) So why haven’t I purchased more of Avon, I am not sure really.


Anyway, today, I was given the chance to try the nail polish Romance from Avon, a nail polish my colleague got as a gift for placing an order. The colour looked very pretty in the bottle and I couldn’t wait to borrow and wear it.


 







My first impressions? Application was easy enough, formula was not too runny, not too thick and I could take my time while applying it but I feel it’s too metalliccy for my liking and I am not a fan of the brushstrokes marks so much. I feel this shade would appeal to loads of people but I find it a bit too grey and not warm enough on my skin tone.
