The foundation I've been looking for?

What time is it? It's time for another 'ghetto' press release. Brace yourselves. I don't know about you but I haven't found my holy grail foundation. I'm a bit bored of Revlon Colorstay, Mac Studio Fix is not helping my dry skin and the 3 latest foundations from Max Factor left me very unimpressed. What I need is full coverage and suited for dry skin. This new foundation from Revlon popped under my eyes today, as I was paying a short visit to Superdrug and I wanted to share it with you.

This is the latest from Revlon and it is called 'Age Defying with DNA Advantage' foundation.

NEW Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup combines makeup + powerful anti-aging skincare to help protect skin's DNA to fight the signs of aging. 96% of women saw flawless, younger-looking skin in two weeks. Lines and wrinkles are visibly diminished while skin is refreshed, hydrated, revitalized. SPF 20

There's some more blabla information on the website here, but I'll skip to the bit which got me more interested:

provides flawless, moisturizing, complete coverage to even out skin tone and hide imperfections.

Complete coverage did you say? This sounds like music to my ears.

Yes, the DNA bit sounds very fancy and they made an effort to replicate the shape of the dna in the design of the bottle but what I am most bothered about is how it looks on my skin really. Having a quick play with it in the shop, I found the lid to be a little bit on the tacky side but there was something which caught my attention: the non smell of the foundation. I would need to double check that, as I still can't believe it myself, but I *think* this has a virtually non detectable smell.

As you can see from my 'professional official photo' the foundation is on special offer and I am really tempted. Ageless Elixir from Mac Factor left me with too much glow on my face. Is the DNA age from Revlon going to be the same? I am scared.

I am scared and annoyed. There are only 4 shades. I am sure I can find one which will suit me, but is it too much hard work to stick to the same shades, Revlon? *grumpy face*

Have you tried Revlon DNA thingy bob foundation yet?

If you try it, let me know! I was looking at it but the bottle looks a bit like a curly dog poo which put me off a bit.

I love the bottle design of this. WANT! :)

If you have dry skin, you could check out Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep OR Healthy Mix (original). They are both really nice and kind of too moisturizing for my oily/comb skin.

I've been looking at this 'cause I'm bored of my photoready one but it really is a pain finding the right foundation! I wish they gave you little samples for like 70p or something. Would be so much easier!

I've been through so many foundations, I really need to find one that's good for dry skin and covers properly but doesn't look too heavy! x

I think it comes down to preference on whether you like your skin to look matte or glowy. I realise that I really like my skin to have a bit of a sheen so always head for things that give a glowier look. I don't think I have the skin for matte coverage.. I always think I look a bit like a corpse!! Though my friends who like matte seem to make it look.. I just don't seem to be able to!

I have this foundation and I'm sorry to say but it's really not that brilliant! I like a medium to full coverage foundation and this is probably light to medium coverage. It evens out skintine very well but if, like me, you have pink or red undertones to your skin this isn't the foundation for you. I agree it doesn't have a discernible smell and it does go on very easily but I did notice that a couple of hours in my face was in desperate need of de-oiling! My nose especially was very shiny.

I'm still waiting for my holy grail of foundation I'm afraid.

Im betting none of those 4 shadeds will be my colour. I hate that i can never buy high st brands as they never have the right colour!

Liloo you genius! I noticed this is Superdrug today but didn't quite have the time to take a closer look.
I absolutely LOVE the bottle and really think they've made a conscious effort to replicate the DNA pattern within the glass - as you mentioned :o)
I think I'll take a trip into town tomorrow and take a sneaky sample. Keen to see if it's actually a "long wear" foundation!!
Revlon isn't a brand which jumps out at me usually, today was different - well done Revlon!!
