#Bbloggers is a twitter HASHTAG (or frequently abbreviated to just TAG) created by Fee from MakeupSavvy.   “Hashtags are a powerful tool that allows Twitter users to track what many people (especially people whom you  aren’t already following) are reporting or thinking about a particular topic or event” * For example, if you live  in the UK, you will have seen many twitter users appending their tweets with #theapprentice or #bgt when the  popular tv programmes The Apprentice and Britain's Got Talent (shortened to BGT) are on TV. Whether you should subject all  your followers with your running commentary of the programme on twitter is another debate (and one which I am not  getting into today) but it remains that using a tag when tweeting about a particular event or topic is very handy for 2 main reasons:

1. Your followers are automatically able to understand that 'Did Amanda had a date with David Dickinson last  night' would refer to Amanda Holden (from Britain’s Got Talent) and a heavy hand with the St Tropez
2. You can meet some new people talking about the same topic/event, have a laugh and perhaps follow them as  result.
   
   
   So what's #bbloggers then? What does it stand for?

#BBloggers is a twitter tag created by Fee from MakeupSavvy to track a chat about blogging, where bloggers from  all over the world, are invited to talk about their blogs. {please read Fee's introductory post here}  

#Bbloggers  stand for Beauty Bloggers, with originally having Beauty Bloggers in mind, but it is open to all bloggers,  regarding the topic they are blogging about, their experience of blogging, whether they have started blogging 2  minutes ago, or been at it for years.

#Bbloggers is a weekly 1-hour twitter chat (every Sunday, 8.00 to 9.00pm  GMT) but the chat always run for an hour, with sometimes the most gobby ones talking till midnight! The chat has  proven to be very popular and around 2000 tweets are exchanged during the hour, which leaves me on to the next point.


How to take part in #bbloggers?
The same way as you would append your tweets with #americanidol, for example when talking about the programme American  Idol (I am not obsessed with reality or talent shows or anything) you just need to include the #bbloggers tag when taking in the part in the conversation, and everybody  following the #bbloggers feed, whether they follow you or not, will be able to see your contributions to the  chat, be able to reply to you etc.


How do you follow the #bbloggers chat feed?

• Tweetdeck users: If you have Tweetdeck, following a hashtag couldn't be any easier. You create and save a new 'search' column.  Type in the tag #bbloggers as the search criteria, and the column will appear alongside all your existing ones,  showing all the latest tweets tweeted using that hashtag. The column will automatically update itself. If you  enable the 'live stream' feature, you're in for a fast paced ride. Try it sometime ;)

• Web Twitter users: 1. Go to Twitter Search.
  2. Type in the expression #bbloggers in the search query. (It might better to open the search page in a different  browser tab/window so that you can still see your mentions/replies and main feed as normal
  3. Refresh the page periodically to see the latest results
  4. Fasten your seat belts as the chat has proven to be popular and is quite fast.

 

Humourous Tags or tags used in a joke context


 
 I couldn’t end this post without mentioning the non serious jokey tags. It’s not to everyone’s taste but I like them. Tags like #thingsyoudowhenyourebored or other ‘fake’ tags which people invent are not meant to track a conversation. Well you can’t try searching for occurences of #thingsyoudowhenyourebored and other out of the blue made-up tags but I don’t think you’ll get very far.

Why this post? I’m covering for Fee (MakeupSavvy) and opening the proceedings of #Bbloggers Chat tonight. As there any many new people joining the chat every week, I wanted to have a little something ready to explain the basics.  I am not a twitter expert by any means but I have tweeted *cough*a fair few times and have learnt a few things along the way.

A little insight into my life… de A a Z

I don't usually like to write about myself. Isn't that what you're doing in your *god knows how many tweets a day* anyway? I hear you say. True. I also feel my blogposts include enough personal junk and I wouldn't want to add to the bore.


In my small life as a blogger, I've been invited three times to give more facts about myself: The lovely Briony Lou, Carla and Laura (Lil Fairy Doll)  have all tagged me and wanted to know more about me.


Today, I would like to beat the bull, the bullet and the horn while the iron is hot and just do it. Here's a little insight into my life, from A to Z…

	AGE: I'd rather tell you when was the last time I had some action on the sofa/bed rather than telling you my age. I don't do age and I don't celebrate birthdays either. The biggest favour people can do to me is to forget my birthday altogether and I'll love you back :) The look of the cars on the photo above will probably give you an indication of my age ^_^
	BED SIZE: 140x200 cm ha! aka a standard double bed with plenty of pillows.
	CHORE YOU HATE: Changing the duvet cover
	DAY: Wednesday
	ESSENTIAL START TO YOUR DAY: My mini bath of the morning. I don't like showers but I love mini baths
	FAVOURITE COLOUR: I have so many. Favourite colour to wear would be black (not in honour of the Rebecca afore mentioned. A bright fuchsia, lime green would perk me up, I am addicted to orange and purple eyeshadows too.
	GOLD OR SILVER: Gold, gold and definitely gold. I love golden toes, they go with anything and makes me feel like Cleopatra
	HEIGHT: I am very small. I am 158 cm (or 5.2 and a half for all you with the non metric system users
	INSTRUMENTS: Other than blowing my own trumpet at times at times, I play no instrument. I would have loved to play drums though.
	JOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant. Think typical secretary complete with the nail file, the photocopying machine, the tea/coffee round, the fit or not delivering stationery but without the typical secretary attire and makeup: I would mostly be in tracksuit or combat, whatever fits the bum.
	KIDS: Not in a millions years. I'd rather have a cat if I am bored one day
	LIVE: I live in the north west of England, about 1 hour away from Manchester. I spent most of my life in Réunion (next to Mauritius) which explains my frequent moans about the British weather
	MOM’S NAME: She's referred to as 'mother'. We are not very close and don't like each other. I try to keep in touch 3 or 4 times a year.
	NICKNAMES: Frenchie, French fancy, trouble, pain in the bum, lozza,and @tsunimee of course
	OVERNIGHT HOSPITAL STAYS: None thankfully. Well .. if you don't include that one time when I was a bit drunk. Tequila, never again.
	PET PEEVE: I have millions of pet peeves. The first one which will SPRING to mind, is air conditioning in shops and in trains, when the weather doesn't warrant for it and when I still think it's too cold for it. It is always too cold :)

I've got a life to start living and you're not going to be in it! <-- Can you guess which film it is from?
	RIGHT OR LEFT HANDED: I am naturally left handed but they forced me to write with the right hand at school. So apart from writing, using a pair of scissors and using a computer, I would use the left hand for everything. It's not easy at times to live in a right handed ruled world. The kettle and the way the iron table are positioned in a shared building would be my most common pet peeves (told you I had many of those)
	SIBLINGS: What is this? Family time or something? I have one brother. We don't get on. Probably last time I talked to him was 6 years ago, if that. I don’t “do” family.
	TIME YOU WAKE UP: Too late that's for sure. I need to be at work for 9 everyday. Saturday is bliss and I am never up before noon. I am not a morning person to say the least.
	UNDERWEAR: You perv! Are you sure you really want to know? I got a preference for black underwear. Cannot bear visible panty line. I hate normal knickers and when the way the fabric goes and dislodged itself within minutes in between my bum cheeks. This is why I have been wearing g strings for as long as I can remember
	VEGETABLES YOU DISLIKE: celery, celery and celery.
	WHAT MAKES YOU RUN LATE?: I don't understand that question. Twitter on my phone is the number one distraction in the morning which would make run late for work? (is that what was the question asked)
	X-RAYS YOU’VE HAD: I had a x ray once. My hips. One is higher than other. Not a big deal. I sometimes suffer from bad back. Would you believe I was prescribed to wear heels to balance that problem. I don't mind that :)
	YUMMY FOOD YOU MAKE: I am ashamed to say that I can't cook to save my life. I don't even enjoy my own cup of coffee. I do make a good cheese on toast.
	ZOO: Would you believe I've never been to the zoo. I’ve clearly missed out on life.

The Photography Tag...

There are thousands of things I would like to learn, thousands of skills I'd like to acquire one day and if I had the money, I would be enrolling on (thousands) lots of courses. I can't swim to save my life, can just boil water to cook pasta and can't even sew a button which has fallen off.
Photography is another area where I don't have a clue about but which really interests me. You'll give me 2 equally good beauty blogs in terms with content and if I had to choose one, I'll go for the one with the best photography.

Anyway, all this long introduction to say that you might have noticed that I like dandelion clocks. When I saw that (free to use) wallpaper from internet, I just had to have it and incorporate it somehow in the layout of my blog. However, I feel that a more 'personal' picture would look better. Well.. this is where you come in.

How would you fancy a little photography challenge?

Fancy photographing a dandelion clock (or even the dandelion yellow flower) for me, please pretty please? There is nothing to win, but if you fancy the challenge, I'd love to 'tag' you and invite you to take part, and take 1 photo for me.


Basically we're aiming for something better than this, LOL and a bit arty farty, you know a bit like the picture on the banner ^_^
