I am not liking my nails at the moment. They are too short, the nail shape of my index is doing its own thing again but today was a special occasion. Today was Freebie (Th)Fursdaaaay :) The orange fanatic in me found it hard to resist buying a copy in Instyle Magazine this month. Instyle did again one of their popular collaboration with nails inc and promised their readers 3 shades of polishes this month. 5pm couldn't come soon enough for me to get my hands on candy orange.
At the same time, I've been reflecting on my recent purchases of nail polishes and realised that the most I'd been spending lately on nail polishes had been £2.99 (Instyle Magazine costing £3.70!) So I really wanted to have a good look at the bottle and make a final decision then. The polish was much brighter than I expected but since I only had one orange polish in my collection (Gosh Orange Drops) I decided to give it a whirl.
Well maybe I shouldn't have bought it after all. I have found candy orange not very easy to apply. I found the formula to be quite thick, verging on gloopy. It has a nice glossy finish but it's one of these polishes that until it's a bit dry, it looks a bit messy to be honest. But if the colour and the result is nice, it's all that matters right?
Well, I do love orange but this is bit too on the neon side for my liking. Photos show 2 coats but ideally this manicure needs 3 coats. Overall, I am not very impressed by this shade and it will no doubt come up in some sort of blog sale. What a shame, I had great hopes for this little orange number. Maybe my expectations were too high. I should have bought the brown instead *sigh*
Candy Orange? I would prefer to call this more Fanta Orange, as it also comes free with plenty of bubbles unfortunately.

What a shame! I'm glad I missed it then, as I thought it was very similar to Rimmel's Tangerine Queen, which I have already (this also requires 3+ coats for full opacity). I bought the Teal and the Fawn polishes, both of which apply beautifully :) Fawn is like a grey-er Barry M Mushroom. Sorry that yours was rubbish! :( xxx
(Still you manage to make it look lovely in these pics - how??? lol) xx
I've only ever had Nails Inc polishes as freebies but they've always been a nuisance to apply and don't last very long before they chip. I'm wearing the teal now (although to me it's more racing green) and it was horrible at one coat and bearable at two. You're right, it was gloopy, and the brush is rubbish and floods when you shake the bottle. I got the orange too, but will give the nude a miss and go for Barry M mushroom instead :)
I find the freebie nails inc polishes are quite nasty to apply, I thought it was Nails Inc as a whole for a long time, but then I got proper nails inc polishes and realised it is Just the freebies that aren't so good.
Still... I do like that orange. Neons my thing ,-)

Oh i actually really like this colour, shame you're not keen. I'm currently obsesssed with orange/coral/peach :)
I agree with Red above though, the free Nails Inc polishes are annoying, i got one with Glamour ages ago and only ever used it once - streak central. xxx
Well, it's nice enough. And it didn't cost a helluva lot. Mute it a bit by layering something over it? I've started doing that a lot recently.
The application looks very tidy to me. But it isn't a 'special' polish by any stretch...
I nearly picked this up but I don't like InStyle that much... I might have to go back and have a look, I don't have a nice orange. Nails Inc seems to be free with everything, though, kind of makes me wonder what's wrong with it if they keep giivng it away?!
I like this shade on you! shame you don't x
I actually really like that colour, I don't think I would be able to carry off something that bright as my skin is too pale, but I imagine that colour would be great on the toes with tanned feet. Jude xx @jadlgw
