Sleek Saturday Series – Bohemian Sunset, collaboration with Eyelining Obsessions

If you're new to 'Sleek Saturday', the purpose of this series is to make use of my collection of Sleek Palettes. Joining me today in this series, is Claire from Eyelining Obsessions and I really can't wait to see her look. Last week, when I was playing with Sleek Makeup Safari, I was faced with the challenge of dealing with a eyeshadow palette including mainly ultra shimmery/frosty shadows. How refreshing was it this week to play with 'BOHEMIAN’, the limited Edition iDivine palette!

Bohemian marks a breath of fresh air in the creation of sleek Palettes. It comes out in an original, innovative yet not very practical white casing. My I haven't used my palette very much at all but the white got very scruffy very quickly. I still like it very much because I am able to identify quickly.

It also marks a turning point in the design: the arrival of stylish arty sleeves, although I don't remember where I've put mine. Since Lipglossiping blogged about it and came out with names for all the shades of the palette, Sleek absolutely loved the idea and decided then to name the shades in all their palettes.

Bohemian has a refreshing mix of matte and shimmering shadows, which makes a massive difference for me. I am no longer limited to where I put my shadows and if I want to, I can put this lurid 'shamrock' green in my crease and it doesn't look too odd, because it's matte. I just don't have the eye lid to be able to carry off disco ball shimmer in the crease and beyond and this palette is a god send for me. I’ll have to show you one day, how horrible it is, when I attempt to put shimmer in my crease.

My favourite shades are the shimmery khaki, but most of all, the dark matte purple, which complements superbly my favourite purple in the universe, the purple from the acid palette. And then there is this purple grey shade which is my absolute favourite. It reminds me of Nails Inc London which my favourite nail polish and I know that this little baby is going to be one of the first shade I am going to hit the pan of. Oh I wish Sleek sold their shadows individually so that I could replenish this shade when it's over.

My look today uses 5 shades from the palette,

in an attempt to recreate this sumptuous sunset over the Lake District.

I am quite pleased with the way it turned out. It focuses more on the shimmers created by the sunset light of the ripples on the water, rather than just the typical colours of sunset, like a  previous Sunset look I made in the past, and which I wore on a night out with my colleagues!!

Nothing much is going on the rest of the face, but I’ll show you anyway so that you have an idea of the bigger picture of this look. Is that even English? Meh, I don’t know. I am French :P Oh and I am totally wearing my 'photograph t-shirt’ the other way round. That was for artistic purposes, of course.

Bohemian was a real pleasure to play with. It’s an amazing palette. You know me by now, if I thought it was crap, I would tell you. I’ve done 3 looks with it in total. Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow as I will be posting one of the 2 others looks I’ve done with Bohemian. Originally, this palette was sold at Superdrug at £4.99. The person I pinched the picture from on eBay (makeupjunkie1984) is selling it at £19.99 if you’re interested…

Lilo, that's gorgeous! I struggle with the colours in this palette - I always put the purple and the cranberry together, or the yellow and green and ignore the rest! I like that it's white as well, though, easy to find!

I love how you use imagery in your makeup! I think the palette is great - I love the plum/purple its almost the same colour I painted my fireplace today! As always I think you've done a fantastic job. Now if only I could apply makeup like you... :) xxxx

I love those colors! SO gorgeous! I am a lover of matte shadows myself--I can wear the shimmery/pearl finished colors all over my eyes, but I prefer having the different textures. =]
