Saturday is for ... shopping

This is probably not the finest title I have ever come up with, but since I am not a fan of the word 'haul' and basically just want to share my purchases of the day, this was the best I could come up with.



I took the train to the next town to visit a decent size Superdrug but my first stop was Bodycare. It was Robyn who kinda brought me there. She blogged that she had found some bargain lashes in some sort of a pound shop. I didn't find the ones she bought but I went home with 2 pairs of lashes at £1.49 each (The ones in the middle with the pink flower watermark on). One is not even for me, it's for my friend as they are really similar to Eylure 145 (her favourites) so I thought these could be a nice thing to try for her. I will report on the ones I have bought for me at some other time.
I hope they are good, I really love the packaging!







They had lovely offers on at Superdrug. They had my ultimate body scrub product (reviewed here) at half price (£3.62 instead of £7.25) so I just had to stock up, naturally.







Then I was seduced by the packaging of these Superdrug own brand face masks and the offer obviously:  4 for £3. See if the packaging on Montagne Jeunesse was more attractive, I would have also indulged. Really not a fan of the face of a woman with leaves and roses covering the eyes!






No visit to Superdrug was complete with a long station on the Sleek stand. I was very eager to check out the new Eau la la Multi Purpose liners. I was very restrained and only purchased the white one. One can never have too many white eye pencils and I use them all the time on my waterline. I am hoping to test it as a some sort of jumbo pencil and will you how I get on with that some other time.






That’s it really. I hope it was not too boring.

Budget Bronze Boogie Nails

Carrying on with the theme of budget cheap polish and in my search for the gold polish of my dreams I stumbled upon this golden / bronzy nail polish 'Bronze Boogie' from Technic at bodycare. The colour looked nice enough in the bottle, it was only £0.99 so I went ahead and buy it. Now, this is such a budget nail polish that even the label is not stuck properly and I had to look for a label which was not too wonky.


  


As with my Technic golden peachy nail polish bought the same day, this polish has a really really strong smell, very distinct from any polish you have ever tried in your life. Despite the smell though, the polish is a very gorgeous colour, and applies very easily, offers amazing coverage even in one coat. Photos are shown with 2 coats.








Such a shame about the smell. Could I get used to it? Maybe, but definitely not today, as I feel it’s given me a bit of a headache lol. Do they look cheap and nasty once applied? I bet no one wouldn’t even tell the difference with a more pricey alternative. I feel like an Arabian Princess … well I wear nose clippers that is { @Lisforlois ;) }

A dupe of Models Own 'Golden Peach' at £0.49?

. My blog is rapidly turning into 'let me buy all the cheap tat in the shops, so that you don't have to'. Inspired by friend Debbie who discovered some bargains at bodycare, I stumbled on a trio of mini polishes (7ml in each bottle), and right in the middle of this trio, this peachy polish infused with gold, which reminded me straight away of Models Own Golden Peach, one of many items on my ever expanding wishlist.


 






This trio was priced at £1.49, making this little sexy number just costing £0.49. At this price, even if I get 5 manicures with it, I'll be happy. The first swipe on my nails and it was love at first sight and I just couldn't wait to pait all my other nails with it and show it to you. Application was a breeze despite a very sheer formula. Here you can see 2 coats applied over a nude polish, the same one as normal, misscellaneous from missguided yadi yada *yawn*. I must buy another nude polish because at this rate, I am going to run out by the end of the month.







Love at first SIGHT but definitely not love at first SNIFF: I'm not sure what they put in there but, boy, 'goldy peachy' as I would like to call it stinks the place out. I actually usually love the smell of the chemicals in the polishes but this is a different story altogether and it reminded me a bit of the smell of a freshly painted bench.







Overall opinion: other than being impatient at the nail polish to dry so that the nail polish diminishes in smell power, I am very happy with my little bargain and until I can afford it, this will be my very own models own golden peach to keep and enjoy.
