Clic, Cloc and win :)

Do you what I also enjoy besides blogging? I enjoy graphic design, and fonts. Long before my love for make up, I have had a passion for fonts, and playing around with my paint shop pro, creating things just for fun. Long before Facebook, I had my own website and enjoyed spending time on it. So when I was invited to take part in a graphic design challenge, I thought it was too fun to refuse and I just had to take part.

I was approached to see if I wanted to create a design for a clicloc watch, those fun watches which have a very quirky to attach themselves to your wrist, with a clic cloc sound. Caroline from sparklyvodka has reviewed it on her blog. The box it arrives in is too cute for words.   











A few other bloggers also took part. Our designs have been showcased on a Facebook page, and opened for votes. The person whose design gets the most votes, gets the chance to work with the clicloc and share ideas on a real design, if I read it right, that is. How fab is that!

*Deal Alert* Babyliss Big Hair on Buyapowa

I've been obsessed with getting a babyliss big hair (rotating hot brush, hair styling tool) for years but my obsession with getting my hands on it reached a whole new level, since January 2012 since so and so tweeted they were able to find one at £20 in wilkinsons and another girl saying she found the same deal at Boots.

Lashes of the Day (reviewed) for Beauty Bargains Week - BloggaPowa at BuyaPowa.

Once upon a time, there was a monkey who started to scour the internet to provide beauty products for beauty obsessed enthusiasts people like me to purchase at a bargain price. Buyapowa or the wonderful world of co-buying was born. People like you and me have been able to get our hands on beauty products at competitive prices. I am talking The YSL Touche Eclat at £13 (£24.50 RRP), the new repackaged Urban Decay Primer Potion at £9 (RRP £14.50) to name but a few.

Buyapowa enables people to come together and buy products at slashed down prices. The more people buy one item, the cheaper this item gets. Once you buy an item of your choice, you are given a referral link to share, and the more people you bring in, the lower the items gets for everyone. Jennifer Love Hewitt, Eva Longoria swear by them and I have been dying to try them on myself but not for their retail full price of £20, and feel a little bit like a celebrity myself .

What's so special about the Smoky Layers from Shu Uemura? The superposition of soft fluffy feather layers enhancing your lashes in an unique, in almost a 3D way. I have tried many times to find similar lashes for cheaper, only to be disappointed. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so maybe these pictures will show you how divine and exquisite these lashes are.

The lashes come in an elegant sturdy plastic case, which slides open at the side.

Application will take a little bit longer than your average mono-layer lashes. The smoky layers lashline has to be thicker to be able to hold the drama of the superposition of feathery layers. But once they are on, they are on and you will feel like a million dollars.

I can't tell you if it really works, I have yet to try it myself and give it a go.


As with Nanoblur, Boots has the UK market exclusivity over Snoxin, and I doubt they will be offering it any cheaper than £22.99 which is the best price you can get it with Buyapowa. The recommended retail value of this product is 39 Dollars (not sure if it's Canadian Dollars or American Dollars) but the conversion rate is roughly the same and would come to £24.99, and the Buyapowa monkey is offering it for £22.99. Sweeeet!   There are only 50 available though, so don't delay if you want to get one!

*Deal Alert* Shu Uemura Smoky Layers False Lashes for £10 at Buyapowa (RRP: £20)

I don't usually treat myself to high end beauty products. Also if a product is not usually sold in an average size Boots or Superdrug store, I am not usually interested. But I am a massive false lashes addict and I have been lusting for as long as I can remember for a pair of Shu Uemura False Lashes and specifically the 'Smokey/Smoky Layers' variety. These babies usually retails at £18.50-£20.00 and even though I know for fact (and from my friend Cat (@perfectpolished) that they are extremely good value for money, I just can't bring myself to spend 20 quid in a single pair of lashes.



They say 'Layers of thin black lashes add volume to your lash line, creating a sultry eye look reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour' *cue photo*

Well today, the lashes are available to buy on Buyapowa and this makes me excited like a kid on Christmas day. The lashes were available twice before on buyapowa, but I missed both sales or co buys as buyapowa call them. The principle of buyapowa is simple. There is a very limited number of products available for purchase. The more people buy the items, the cheaper the item gets.
